Adoption of climate smart agricultural solutions.
We are focused on ensuring new climate smart agricultural technologies have been tested, demonstrated and disseminated among farmers and entrepreneurs. We promote technology transfer, particularly in relation to climate-smart agriculture, to address the growing threat of climate change to agricultural productivity.
Among other things, the Foundation promotes the adoption of drought resistant plant varieties and animal breeds, better management of pastures and rangelands and the introduction of fodder for livestock (fodder production and animal feeding). LRC foundation does not support fundamental research but focuses on applied research.
This includes testing, demonstrating and disseminating new climate smart agricultural technologies and management practices developed and studied by renowned research agencies and private companies in Kenya and worldwide.
